5th Annual Veterinary Student Legislative Fly-In
The fifth annual AVMA Student Legislative Fly-In will take place March 4-5th 2013 in Washington, DC. The Fly-in is two day workshop to introduce and initiate veterinary students in the legislative process and to educate students and Members of Congress on public policy issues facing the veterinary profession.
January 18 is the last day to register for the Student Legislative Fly In!
Last year, 62 students from across the country participated in the event hosted by the AVMA’s Governmental Relations Division. The Fly-In is an example of what a big idea, encouragement, and enthusiastic students and supporters can achieve. Educate and empower yourself to become future political ambassadors and advocates for the veterinary profession.
At the two-day meeting, AVMA GRD staff will provide briefings on the current issues facing the veterinary medical profession on Capitol Hill. The meetings will also include training designed to explain how lobbying works, the role advocates play in the federal government and the important role veterinarians play in shaping public policy.
